Rants and Raves

Some interesting facts about summer movies:

Troy – Playing the Greek warrior Achilles, Brad Pitt injured – yes – his Achilles heel.

Dodgeball – Ben Stiller broke three cameras, one right after the other, with dodge balls while filming a scene

Spiderman 2 – Spidey’s suits were enhanced for the sequel: more striking spiders on the front and back, richer colors, and brighter webbing. Tobey Maguire ran through 35 of those suits.

I,Robot – In this sci-fi thriller, set in 2035, Sony’s much-touted robotic dog, AIBO shows up in the window of an antique robot store.

Anchorman – One day, Paul Rudd ran around in his underwear for hours and did lap dances for Will Ferrell.

Collateral – When shooting occurred at night, Tom Cruise arranged for In-N-Out Burger trucks to feed the crew.

Catwoman – 43 cats were trained for the film. Halle Berry liked one – named Play Dough – so much she kept it.

The Notebook – As Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams row romantically on a lake, they’re surrounded by more than 300 white ducks. This is no special effect: the production bought the ducks when they were 2 days old and trained them to swim toward the boat.

  • apparently they made sure all the ducks were placed in good homes, whatever that means. and yes, i think providing in-n-out for the entire crew would make him pretty popular.
